Learner Support Assistant | Freelance

2.5 days per week / 0.5 FTE – Monday, Tuesday and Friday
morning or afternoon (from September 2026). Term time only.

We are seeking a patient, reliable and encouraging Learner
Support Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a
student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
The student is a motivated learner with a strong interest in music
and well-developed practical skills in music production and
Digital Audio Workstations. The student learns particularly well
through practical activities but requires additional support with
cognition and learning, including understanding assignment
requirements, organising ideas, structuring written work and
maintaining focus.

The successful candidate will work alongside teaching staff to
help the student access the BTEC Level 3 curriculum,
participate fully in college life and become increasingly confident
and independent as a learner.
This is a support role. The Learner Support Assistant will help
the student understand and complete tasks independently and
must not complete assessed work on the student’s behalf.
As this role is expected to involve regulated activity with
children, it is an offence for a person who is barred from
engaging in regulated activity with children to apply for the role.
